everything looks good. but i would get a new powersupply that has at least 17 amps on each 12v rail.

Hello not to hijack anyone's thread but can you load Windows XP Pro on a Athlon 64 as I assume this is really made for Windowx XP 64bit OS.

i'm not sure about the OS thing. i hope that on my system i can put home edition on it, but if i can't, then i will go buy something new.

yes you can load Xp pro on a 64 bit cpu. it will run fine.

you will be able to put home edition on it it will run fine.

Perhaps consider eVGA's Free Motherboard deal, with it you can upgrade the video card to a 7800GT. Even if it means dropping the CPU down to a X2 3800+ to fit in budget, you'd still have better gaming performance.

That's a nice power suppy, but there's really no need to spend over $100 to power a system like this. Something like the Antec TPII-480 would be more than sufficient.

i might consider the Altec-480, but would that be enough for an SLI setup, i will eventually be going to that once i need to, or even i might not go to the SLI, and i might grab one of nvidia's new cards when they come out, is that enought power? and eventually i will be adding a cooling system. so im trying to keep that in mind also. thanks.

i wouldn't actually need the DVDRWthat puts it to 1100, how's the SLI on the mobo also? how is the Typhoon compared to the thermaltake blue orb II? otherwise i like everything.

Maybe not, but unless you already have an optical drive, you'll need something to load the OS & Programs.

It's not an SLI motherboard, but it does support crossfire.

Better

It should be sufficient to power SLI'd 7800GTs

i already have an opitical drive, that's why i don't need one. I'm not exactly sure what crossfire is, but if it has to do with ATI only, i won't be using it 'caues im strictly a nvidia guy. I will prob. change the mobo up so it does support SLI, cause in the end it will either be SLI Gt's or a 7900.

That mobo doesn't support SLI, unless you're willing to mod it.
Yeah but by the time UT2007 comes out ... a current generation SLI'd rig wont save it by that much.
