I think I have an "infection" and want to try clearing out my hdd and re-installing
everything. How do I do this, and how can I do it without losing about 40gb of music in my second hdd?
Failsafe method: get everything you need off of the bad HDD, disconnect the good HDD, boot to windows CD (change the boot order in BIOS if needed), reformat the HDD with a fresh windows install.
Try burning the music (I know it will take a long time) because if the infection is on both hdds just disconnecting one might not work. You might as well try Yeti's sugestion first though because i doubt the infection will be on both hdds
