RE: IDE or SATA?

Hi guys, can anyone teach me how to choose between a IDE or a SATA ODD?? I'm quite new with computers and I don't want to get something not compatible for my rig. Thanks =)

Well I wouldn't say FAR superior, as optical drive's don't utilize a whole lot of bandwidth (except maybe blu-ray, but that's a different story). I agree though that SATA is the way to go for internal drives.

To me there is only little difference between the two, like a few seconds quicker reaction time than ide, What is a few seconds?

There is also the fact of much smaller cables - thus a better looking machine, not stuffed with cables!
