Last week my Wondows XP came to a halt. I am NOT very computer savy so called Dell support for help. They said to re-install from CD's. I did with their help including drivers. Long process for me! Also, cost $100!

Question for you guys. When computer was delivered to me from Dell (Dimention 4600) installed on programs list was maybe 40 applications/programs, i.e. Microsoft Word, different players, etc. All gone now! Dell support did'nt advise me until it was too late. What would you suggest to get most of these applications back? Dell doesn't seem to know although THEY installed them at factory!

Any help greatly appreciated.

dell? ai ya.. lol.. [i personally dont like pre-installed manufactured computers (dell, compaq, gateway.. etc)] just that it seems so hard to fix when something goes wrong... but like all computers... there should be a disc containing all the drivers and programs that came preinstalled on your computer incase stuff like this happens... just look for it.. if there isn't one.. mmm have to get new ones..

oo0o..did u format and reinstalled XP? or did u like a quick update/fix.. if so.. it might of saved your old user files in "my computer/C:/documents and settings" and ur programs should still be in ur program files folder... if its a clean clean clean reinstall... mm unless there is a way to recover it.. i dont know about then.. have to get new ones..
