Hey all,

well i had my system overclocked to 2.53Ghz previusly and it was stable according to Orthos but i had to drop the overclock back to the 1.86Ghz because i was having temp problems with my old cooler.

so i got me an AC7 pro and my temps are great now ive got my new cooler so i want to overclock againbut when i go back into the bios and upp the cpu front side bus so i get 2.53Ghz again i restart and my pc just shows the motherboards logo picture and nothing.

i had to clear the bios by moving the jumper on the motherboard and this worked and im running at 1.86 Ghz again but thats the problem?

when i overclocked before i didnt need to change any memory timings and the overclock worked.
im guessing this has something to do with memory speeds am i correct?

Yeah, try lowering the multiplier on your memory, mine is set at x2 so the memory runs at 826MHz I think when I'm at 3GHz (i.e. now).

If i was you mate, i would start from scratch.
Start off at stock and slowly increase the processor speed and see where that gets you first.;)

yeah i am mate im at 1.86 now,I might go to 2Ghz...restart and see what it goes up to until i stop at motherboard logo picture again :)

right ive gone back to 2.3Ghz and it booted fine.

current settings:

CPU Setttings:

CPU FSB Frequency :330
Cpu Ratio (7)
Adjusted cpu Frequency: 2310

Memory settings:

FSB/Memory ratio [1:1.25]

Adjusted DDR Memory Frequency (825)

on those settings above @ 2.3Ghz no i didnt,i didnt have to increase any voltages when i was at 2.53Ghz either but im sure it was set to Auto before so it might have drawn a bit more juice at 2.53Ghz.
