reaching laptop's fan and heatsink

do most laptops fan and heatsink hard to reach unless you nearly take the whole CPU a a loose? if so, how can I reach it with taking the entire computer a loose? there's no way but take it to a shop to get charge pretty high?
 
You have to dismantle the laptop to get to those parts. Some are easy to get to but some can be a pain in the butt.
 
Depends on the laptop, if you are asking these questions then I'm not that confident you could reassemble it without issues.

It's generally labor intensive as on a lot of them you have to tear it down a significant degree to unmount those components.

What are you even trying to accomplish?
