ready to format and reload

I'm back again.
I got all photos and personal files off my MIL pc and now I need to wipe it out and reinstall all the software.
So, can someone walk me through this?..
I never done anything like this before so keep it simple.

ok.. I need to clean this computer completely.
So how do I wipe it clean?

Then I need to reinstall.


I have the following CDs that came with the PC
Applications 1 and 2
Drivers
Operating system
I don't have the Application restoration cd's MIL lost them I guess..didn't bring them.. or whatever

Am I missing anything?

You'll need to download and create a start up disk and get to DOS and format the hard drive using the FDISK command. Then start the computer with your start up disk and OS disk and make sure you choose to have CD support. From here you should be able install your OS and redo everything.

Personally I use my hard drive's software and completely zero out the hard drive to prevent any possible problems in the future.
