I have Comcast extreme 50 and get over 60 Mbits on my desktop but over the wifi my connectivity seems to be getting worse. My laptop regularly says the DNS server could not be reached and wont load anything even tho it shows excellent reception with local and internet access. My ps3 was streaming netflix fine but now i can only get low SD and med SD quality. I called them and they said my streaming speeds are erratic. I have a netgear n300 wnr2000. It is in my basement but has been their for over 2 months now. I took my laptop down there and I don't think it works any better. I don't know if there is something wrong with it, or my laptop + the ps3 is a coincidence or what but I dont even know what to trouble shoot. Part of me wants to go get another router, like one with 'better multi foor' performance. On a different note does anyone know if bestbuy will do an exchange for a better router if I pay the difference? Should I get a new router? Is this one broken? Insight please!

Same issue with Comcast. I swear they're throttling me and lying about it. Internet at my place worked fine until a few months after I moved in and I've had the same issue as you for more than a year. I've replaced modems, routers, fought with them to come test the lines in front of me, ect and nothing has fixed it. If I stay at my dads for a week or so and come home it'll return to normal for my room mates until I'm back for a few days and go back to downloading as normal and the issues come right back. Hell I've even gone outside and visually inspected the lines coming into my apartment building and found signal restrictors placed on the lines coming directly into my apartment. I called and bitched them out over it and they tried to tell me it was because my connection was slowing everyone else or knocking their signals out in the area. Funny how they haven't noticed I've removed them 3 or so months ago.
