Reasons why XFX is the pick to go for 6600 GT

After hours of researching and deciding on the XFX version of the 6600 GT, I have came to the following conclusions why XFX has the best 6600 GT out there. Here are the reasons starting best first:

1) A 50 MHz increase in memory. Yes, thats right.....XFX has the only 6600 GT that has a 50 Mhz Boost in memory. This will ofcoarse put it above others on the benchmarks.

2) Dual DVI. The others have single.

3) High Quality Manufactuer (formally known as Pine). Not a lame "Powercooler" brand....yuck! Had experiences with them already.

4) Improved Heatsink/Fan design. XFX has recently just tagged an awesome aluminum QUIET Fan that is capable for keeping this card cool, even through some decent OC'n.

5) Game/Package Bundle. Lets face it, most manufactuers don't care to include anymore goodies. XFX includes 3 decent games. And the packaging is the coolest thing I have seen yet.

What an Awesome card! Runs D3 @ 1024x768 Flawlessly!

My $170 worth easily!

Wouldnt u say yer "research" was a bit flawed considering you only researched XFX?

1) A 50 MHz increase in memory. Yes, thats right.....XFX has the only 6600 GT that has a 50 Mhz Boost in memory. This will ofcoarse put it above others on the benchmarks.
1. XFX makes multiple 6600GTs -- one clocked at 500/600 and two 500/500
2. Dont try and pass the XFX 6600GT Extreme Gamer one off as the "regular" XFX 6600GT
3. With all that research you got the memory OC wrong :S (its actually an impressive 100MHz for a 3.125GB/s increase in bandwidth)

3) High Quality Manufactuer (formally known as Pine). Not a lame "Powercooler" brand....yuck! Had experiences with them already.
I see the fanboy comes out ... (1) XFX is the front end name for a company that is still Pine -- same people, same manufacturers, same everything except for a new name that screams "bling" (2) XFX, while ok for video cards can hardly be classified as a high quality manufacturer

4) Improved Heatsink/Fan design. XFX has recently just tagged an awesome aluminum QUIET Fan that is capable for keeping this card cool, even through some decent OC'n.
Wow... did you read that off the box or something?

As for overclocking...

So second lowest core-OC, and a whopping 10MHz memory OC ... now if you look at the Albratron with a 90MHz core and 85MHz memory OC... -- also keep in mind Anandtech is reviewing the Extreme Gamer edition.

5) Game/Package Bundle. Lets face it, most manufactuers don't care to include anymore goodies. XFX includes 3 decent games.
I want to buy a video card, not a game I've already got. ;)

And the packaging is the coolest thing I have seen yet.
1. Again, I want to buy the video card, not a bunch of cardboard
2. Why pay extra for the retail package?
3. Neat box yes but also a pain to open.

You shouldnt be surprised (nor that ecstatic) ...

Much of your info Praeter is non-relevant.

You obviously have LOTs of time on your hands (maybe not enough to finish his website), to seek out all the oddities of information AGAINST the XFX card. One site...good job...but are you aware that there are atleast 30 companies that reviewed this card? I could bring up 3 that have it topping all other companies. May I ask your point of being a jerk? Atleast you come off that way for being so young....and you havn't been in this trade for longer than I have.

So I was off on the 50 Mhz thing........but B0oo---hooo.......is still it still tied for #1 with best memory? I think so.

Your source of Fan noise is HIGHLY irrelevant. Are they testing the Loud and obnoxious old heatsink/fan, or the new, improved model? Facticous information.

Since you obviously have LOTS of time to burn finding ways to un-prove proven, answer those questions above.

Again, for the buck, new improved heatsink, bundle, and memory speeds, the XFX is currently in my opinion the best buy for 6600 GT.

XFX is a nice brand but to claim it's the best choice among the 6600GT's is abit harsh IMO.

Anyway case closed.

Thats a profound statement.

May I ask your point of being a jerk?

Yeah boo hoo for all that research you did.

Indeed ... when you get that old I guess you do get stuck in your ways ... I guess Ill find out about retirement one day

Seems you need to get yer reading glasses .. that WAS the fancy new one.

Its interesting how you didnt directly refute any technical points i made but resorted to a classical "you suck" reply. Real mature. Hehe this thread was dead before it was ever postsed ... I guess I should cement it now...
