Reastarting PC- but wierd?

Hey!

My firends pc's actin up, again!

He said that when he left it on to download overnight it reastarted, so I said itl be heat or PSU problem, but he said na, windows reported some sort of driver error ("device driver failure"??) and also gave him the Blue screen when reastartin a few times.

Any Ideas?
 
First thing, do a virus scan

Also check the CPU temps, but if you got a blue screen, it wouldn't be that

Look in the device manager, see if anything is acting up
 
Well, has any new hardware recently been installed? Any patches to Windows? Any new driver updates? Could also be hardware issues. If hardware malfunctions, it's first communication is the driver, so Windows may report it as a driver error, unless it can pinpoint the specific problem. I reccomend uninstalling all the drivers (and security software), and re-installing them again.
 
If this is a more recent problem you could try restoring the system back to a time when it was working.
