rebooting this laptop

hey guys, i gave up on my laptop it is an HP and it has Windows XP with Media Center installed and im trying to reboot itu what should i do to get it back to as it was before?

i have a Windows XP home cd thats all i have

Was that the disc that came with the laptop? If not, try to find the one that came with the laptop as that should set everything to what it should be when you got it, since that's how you want it.

If not, you can just pop it in with a valid serial key and have it boot from the cd. It should be straightforward after that. Here's a thorough guide you can look into:

if i reboot it would i able to get it back to Windows XP media center? and how i do i get the valid key from this laptop alone, because i am using the key from the CD on this desktop
