Rebuild Complete!

So I finished my computer upgrade and just want to brag a little about the results. I started off with a PC Chips K7SEM MOBO, 1 gig (2x515) Memory, Athlon XP 2000+, 40 gig deskstar HD, and Geforce 5200 128 mb card. Plus a Sony DVD ROM and Plextor CD R/W (the only remaining comonents besides th 3.5 inch drive).

I have since installed and upgraded to almost a completely new system; the new specs are:

ASUS A8N5X socket 939 MOBO
AMD 64 3200+ Venice CPU
2 gig (2 x 1024) mwave PC3200 DDR 400 memory
XFX Geforce 7300GS 256 mb PCIE GPU
Seagate 160 gig, 7200 rpm, 8 meg cache ATA HDD
Sony DVD ROM (not upgraded)
Plextor CD R/W (not upgraded)
Raidmax Sagitta Case


The whole up grade ran about $660. Got to confess, it was a little nerve wracking at times (old HDD ate it before I could clone it) as this was my first forray into building a system myself (It took me a little while to figure out I had to reinstall the OS after the MOBO upgrade), but the system is humming now!

This may be a modest system by most standards, but it is a far sight better than what I had and the difference is astounding to me! I have a few questions about various software that came with the MOBO, but I will ask after that in the software forum (is the AMD Quite and Cool software good for anything?). This post is mainly to brag and to say thanks for the help I got from this forum!
 
Its a lovely feeling when you first press the big old power button, but scary at the same time (First time i pressed the button, it didnt turn on, I had the switch in the wrong way) :D

I actually had forgotten to hook up the square ATX cord and nothing happened for a while....

Then it took me a few frustrated minutes (and a call to a friend) to realize I had to reinstall windows. But after that:)

Oh, and holyjunk, I am currently playing Rome:Total War and generally stick to strategy/rpgs (Civ, neverwinter, etc.). a LONG time ago I used to play the crap out of some Privateer III.
