Recertified cards?

I want a second Geforce 7800gt card. In particular, I would like a second eVGA NVIDIA Geforce 7800gt. However, the only eVGA cards available, are recertified. Has anyone any experience with buying these? Please avoid comments like "recertified cards suck" I would like more information than that. Thank you for any assistance provided.

Anyway, the only devices I refuse to buy used are harddrives. Most anything else should be fine. The only problem is you don't know for sure if the card was ever overclocked.
 
Well considering that the eVGA card comes overclocked anyways. WOuld you recommend I buy a recertified eVGA, or a new XFX one for $80 more?
 
Factory overclocking is one thing, going beyond their safety zone is another...

Do you know if evga's Lifetime Warranty still holds? If so, then you really don't have much to loose.
