Hi just a quick question which platform is perfered amd,intel,agp? any more im missing, are there advantages disadvantages for each one or is it basicly the samething just differnt label? thanks

I'm just a newb here really so i feel like the blind leading the blind but im pretty sure agp is like the outdated pci e and as of now intel has the most efficient cpu and kinda have the market right now. I haven't really read anything that good about amd.

Then again intel and amd is in a holy war...thats my 2 cents (if its worth that much!):)

hey man i apprecate every byte of info i can get my hands on, its quite an undertaking to build a pc but im up for it i just need the basics to get me started so its either between intel or amd lol

I hear ya, I knew nothing two weeks ago (still don't understand too much) now I'm workin on buying my mobo and vid card and i'll have everything i need to start construction.

It depends on what you really want to do.

From what I have seen over the years, is that AMD is usually the choice of gamers, while Intel has been the choice for people who multi-task a lot, and run programs along the line of Photoshop, premiere, Cubase.

AMD= Gaming processes
INTEL= Production processes.

AGP now is somewhat outdated, and I would choose PCIE2x16 over AGP with todays products.

thanks alot jerreck tht really helped alot. but i will still b able to run good games on a intel quad tho rite?
