So I've recently got into overclocking and find it actually easy and quite rewarding. I have an i7 930 running stable at 3.8ghz and it's a beast once again after 6 years at stock.
But the beast runs hot. Temps of 40 to 43 idle and up to 75 under load for a few hours. 85 if I run prime overnight but I was told to expect this with these chips, they have a high tdp and are known to run hot.
What I'd like is a simple goal. To get that 75 down 6 points to 69 would be sweet. I currently have a gelid Tranquillo cooler and my case has one 12cm fan at the front intake. One same size exhaust. And one on the psu of course. Would it be worth getting two more on top as exhaust? Would better paste make a difference I'm using the stock stuff from my box.
