Hey im looking for a recording software like Goldwave that will allow me to have multi recordings play at the same time and save as .mp3 or .wav so that I can record different guitars edit and playback them together and it also needs to have a effects unit.

Hmm... Well that's more hardware based. YOu need a mixer or something like that to go into your line in...

Now something I've never tried but would probably work, if you can record "What you hear" or the Main output, then you could probably set the mic and line-in to you're desired levels and record like that. You'd at least have 2 inputs...

you could try STEINBERG or wavelab. they support 16 streams in one record, so you should be able to edit, remix and so on. a regular soundblaster has a waveeditor addet, but with less functions.

for dj effects you could go for eejay mixer

you can't edit in mp3 format, cuz it does'nt have the needet streams !!!!
you have to edit in wave format, and after storing you need to convert into mp3 with cdex or audiograbber (free)

ciao
