recording sound off a movie i made

I tried that Audacity to record the sound from the grand kids but was not happy with the quality. is it i didn't have it set up and adjusted right for quality or is there better software.

Audacity is what I use but unfortunately it isn't very user-friendly is it?

Have you tried the default Windows Movie Maker program? Since videos are composed up of two or more tracks (visual and audio), Windows automatically splits the visual frames from the audio track.

There might just be an option to save audio file as is in the program...:good:
