Recording TV

I have an Aver-Media capture card.
I am trying to get the drivers.
But what do I need to hook my computer up to what part on the tv or other thing. And what do I need to record and edit and stuff.

Could you please be a bit more specific then "Stuff" what kind of stuff? (Xbox, CATV, RCA cables, ext..) and what kind of editing?

I mean.
The wire that goes from my computer, where does it go? If i want to record a tv show?

It should go to a TV out port in the back of your cable box or satellite receiver.

Using cable box or satellite receiver is outdated for most computer users.
They latest is digital TV on the net. No TV tuner card is required, no wires.
You need 1 mbps internet connection for a good VCD quality picture,
and 2 mbps or more for DVD and DivX.

Softwares are availble to record and edit.
