So I took an old, unused custom built computer of someone that I knew because they were going to throw it away. It works fine and here I have a list of the specifications:

How far could I update this computer and how could I make it faster? I have stripped the computer of everything, all it has on it now is an internet browser, Microsoft Office and iTunes. Any help and advice will be much appreciated, thanks in advance!!!! :)

Its an old machine, but still good for internet, movies, word processing, all that. I would maybe upgrade the RAM to 1 or 2GB. I have a laptop running with 512mb of RAM and XP, and its quite slow.

I would say so. My RAM always gets maxed out. You might be able to replace the CPU, but I would say its too much trouble for what its worth.

The 2200+ on the processor reminds me of my old Sempron, but this board doesn't support them. Either way 3GB's of memory on XP would be good along with a 2.2Ghz or close 2200+ processor, I never ran more than 1GB with mine :(
