Recovering Deleted Email?

My Dad is trying to recover an important Email that was sent in August / September '08.

Which was deleted within the last six weeks, from Outlook Express. The files may have been compacted since?

Is there any way to recover the Email? We've found a few pieces of software that claim to be able to recover it. However, we're not too sure on how legit they are. Any ideas?

Did you check the deleted items folder?
Heres a microsoft suggestion though to do it you need to edit the registry

It's been deleted from the trash can, Yeah.

I'll try the reg edit and see how it works, thanks man!
