Recovering Product key

Hi, I am using Windows xp, and i kinda lost my product key/COa, I was wondering if i can obtain it from my computer, how will i recover it? what programs are trustful?

Which windows version? Does the computer turn on? Doesnt it have a sticker on the side panel?

I have Win 98SE and my product information is found in the registry:
Click Start > Run > type: regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion.

I'm not sure if this will work on XP.
