recovering temp files - need help fast

ok i wasn't sure which topic this would fit best to but..

i am using a music program, audacity. i spent over 4 hours recording something then my pc crashed....when i returned to audacity it gave me the option to delete the temp files loosing the unsaved work before the crash, i chose no, it said i can recover them manually.
my question is how?

before i break down and cry since i have a music audition in a week and i had this down SO perfect can someone please help me in recovering this temporary file?

try looking in the preference menus and see if the software lets you choose where to store temp files. Then copy that path into an explorer window.

You could also check the help documentation (or search on google) which might tell you where the files or stored.
