Red Faction: Guerrilla Issues

So I borrowed this from a buddy of mine and I gotta say not impressed so far.

I hate windows live but I made a offline account (seems to work when I hit home)

I boot the game up I go through the cut scene and when I get to the "find scrap metal" mission I will either crash during the two brothers talking or when picking up 1 piece or after I destroy the wall.

The freezes happen like clock work every single time within 2-10 minutes the game will freeze.

PhysX is disabled since it causes more crashes then anything.

Resolution 1440x900 60hz. For some strange reason the game will only do 59hz and 74hz though.

Any ideas how to fix or is the game just to buggy to play currently?

Well anyone wanting to buy this game don't....I borrowed it and feel ripped off currently. To buggy to play and it would seem that support is never around.

aww. i remember blasting myself into caves that stretched on forever in the first red faction. this one disappoints me.
