Red pixel

Hello everyone!

A few days ago a pixel on my screen turned red. So I phoned LG Electronics and asked if the guarantee would cover this so I could have it on service for free. But to my great disapointment they told me i needed to have atleast 4 messed up pixels otherwise they wouldnt accept it.

So I searched on the web for some methods on how to fix it. I found 2 programs. Jscreen and UDpixel. i ran jscreen for 20mins and UDpixel for 10h straight without any success. I'm able to make the pixel work temporarily by pushing carefully with a pen 1 cm from the red pixel, and when the "wave" hits the pixel it starts to work. sometimes I need to push the screen in many diffrent places (1-2 cm radius from the pixel) for some time before the pixel starts to work properly, but the pixel can turn red again at any time.
I'm getting tired of doing that so I wonder if there's any other thing i can do?
I've been thinking of killing the pixel since i rather have a dead pixel than a red pixel, but it would be the last thing I would do. But I would like to know the best way to kill a pixel. Penetrate it with a needle feels a bit scary, but it's the only way i can think of.
Also, i've been thinking of messing up 3 more pixels so i can have it on service uisng the guarantee. Anyone know how to do this without LG to see I was the one messing up the pixels?

The screen is 6 month only, so i'm kind of surprised i got a red pixel already. The screen name is L1952TQ if anyone is wondering.

All replies are greatly appreciated! :D

I don't see how this bothers people so much... I've had dead pixels before, but at a high resolution I don't see how you could even notice it.

Also, I've never heard of killing pixels either... I would suggest piercing it with a needle.

Have you tried pressing directly on the pixel, hard with your thumb and rubbing?

My notebook has also a dead pixel and its green. I just notice it when the windwos xp is loading. So dont worry about it, You will forget about it.
at first you notice it even you are playing game. it will be ok.
cant you give it back and get another one? Its only 6 month old. so...

It bothers me becuase it's not a dead pixel. it's a red pixel :) a very bright red pixel in the middle of the screen.
when i press a pen on it i can make it work but only temporary. after a while it's back to red again.. but i havent got the guts to press it very hard. maybe that is what it takes..

By the way- Do anyone know any program that can shut down that very one pixel? is that even possible?

there is no program to kill the pixel, and the needle idea is really bad.
Have you tried pressing REALLY hard on the pixel, also try flicking it hard a few time.

When you buy a new device you wanna get a good and fine device that is completly ok and that has no defects of any kind :)
But anyway does he have a right to chage it?

pressure point is a bad idea. i dont know who worked before me but he did that to the lcd monitor and now there is a bright spot where the dead pixel was.
