Redhat Linux

I have heard many good things, and many bad things about redhat linux, has/does anybody here use it, and if so, could you post some screenshots or somthing??? Just some general information, because I am thinking about dumping windows, I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering though, I have Redhat Linux (on cd), and I am looking for stuff on that, anything would be appreciated. :D

BTW: Thank you Southy, I will look into Fedora Core Linux.

I used to use Fedora Core 4, but i had problems with libary's so i switched to Ubuntu. Ubuntu is great for beginners and has a very easy program called Automatix which downloads alot of basic programs.

I only messed Ubuntu up by deleting my home directory, i dont reccommend doing that.

It's only 1 disk and doesn't take a long time to install, i reccommend you try it and if you don't like then don't use it. http://www.ubuntu.com

Hope it helps, Rowan.

Ubuntu also has a LIVE cd (which Fedora doesnt) so if you want to run it and test it out first to see if you like it but really since linux is free, most people just download and install different versions to play around with them and just end up using the one they like most.

Ok. I will try that out, I hope I enjoy it, because, as I said earlier, I WANT TO DUMP MICROCRAP WINDOWS XP :D

Thanks guys!

Well, I'm glad you are all atleast trying linux. You're probally using a dated version of redhat, unless you paid for it. In other words, give fedora core 4 a try.

SuSe is really my favorite beginner distro. I haven't tried Ubuntu, but from a beginners stand point I've heard great things about it.

well, i got it from my local library in the back of redhat linux for dummies, so, i am guessing yes, it is a older version, but dowloading new stuff is no problem, i have high speed internet :D

y didn't u just have it on a seperate partition for gaming?
Which is smart, sense you can install the minimum amount of programs required to game, thus having a faster, more secure, and stable OS. Especially when you want every little bit of memory for your serious gaming ;) .
