reduce file size

hey how can i reduce the size of files. like archive it so that a big file wont be as big

You can try compressing it using a program such as WinRAR, but it really depends on the type of file. If it's something along the lines of an image, JPEG, MP3's, MPG, etc, then those are already highly compressed formats and even using the best compressor you won't reduce the file size much at all.

if your file is .exe your can try upx.

Also, dont expect for media like music and videos to be able to be archived that well. The file size will not be reduced that much unless split into pieces which winrar can do. Archivers work best on files that are text and similar.
