Reducing CPU useage at startup

I'm wondering how I can identify what programs are draining my CPU and what I should keep during startup or any other crucial times / things that could help improve my puny CPU. I need all the power out of it I can get...how can I reduce stress on it from garbage + identifying it?

Give us some system specs first.

1. What processor you have
2. How much memory is installed
3. What operating system you are running

Have you checked the processes tab on task manager and check for cpu usage to make sure you should be right around 0 percent after bootup?

Run this program so we can get an idea of what programs are running at bootup.

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces

If you're using a Windows OS you can type 'msconfig' in the Search bar or in Run after you click on 'Start'. From there you can choose which programs are starting when you boot up your computer.

There should be 3 boot up options when the System Configuration pops up, Normal Startup, Diagnostic Startup, or Selective Startup. Choose Selective Startup and then click on the 'Startup' tab. This list consists of the programs/services that are starting when you boot up your computer. Anything that you are not using or is not needed for the OS to run properly you can leave unchecked. If you are unsure about what something is then leave it checked until you find out so you don't disable something that you need.

You can also do the above with msconfig for services. Go to the services tab and check the Hide all Microsoft Services. Then uncheck anything you don't need to start up. This will help a lot.

That is soluto, which is a program that the first time it runs, it scans your system at start up for programs that start at boot up. In then puts them into categories for recommended to be closed, can be closed, and can't be closed. It stops them from loading when your system boots. It basically automates what the others said about the msconfig service, which will make it much easier to do, because it is a hell of a lot clearer than the msconfig is

I mostly use this PC for broadcasting video games on Justin.tv ... and CPU is vital for rendering out as many Frames / and the resolution of each frame per second....I need CPU powah bad D:

I've edited your post so the hijacthis log actually appears in your post. Your speccy log can't be downloaded. Please redo it and just copy and paste the log you get from speccy and put it in a reply.

Your hijackthis log doesn't show anything bad.
