Reducing CPU useage at startup

Give us some system specs first.
1. What processor you have
2. How much memory is installed
3. What operating system you are running
Have you checked the processes tab on task manager and check for cpu usage to make sure you should be right around 0 percent after bootup?
Run this program so we can get an idea of what programs are running at bootup.
Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.
Click Do a system scan and save a logfile
Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
Post the logfile that HijackThis produces

If you're using a Windows OS you can type 'msconfig' in the Search bar or in Run after you click on 'Start'. From there you can choose which programs are starting when you boot up your computer.
There should be 3 boot up options when the System Configuration pops up, Normal Startup, Diagnostic Startup, or Selective Startup. Choose Selective Startup and then click on the 'Startup' tab. This list consists of the programs/services that are starting when you boot up your computer. Anything that you are not using or is not needed for the OS to run properly you can leave unchecked. If you are unsure about what something is then leave it checked until you find out so you don't disable something that you need.
