If I upgrade my MOBO, CPU, and RAM will I need to reformat my HDD? I know I will have to use my XP disc, but will it require a reformat?

Thanks

You could do a repair install, but a clean install is always better.

Hi,
Yep, I agree. As painful as a fresh install may be (in my case, very painful) it is the way to go. The old OS will freak out when it sees the new MB computing environment. The results are unpredictable and rarely, if ever, good. I speak from experience. I hope someday this problem will be solved because a fresh install with a large number of applications to also install is a bitch. Are you reading this Bill?

Yeah, I'm hoping to avoid the reinstall of all the software and files.

Other than File and setting transfer wizard, any good freeware programs to help with this?
