Reformatted my computer...

Basically i need to know what programs i should keep on my computer to stay way from the following:

Viruses
Hackers
Pop Ups
Spyware
Blue Screen Errors


So far i have:

Sygate Personall Firewall
Avast Antivirus
SpyBot
AdAware


anything else people can add on the list????
 
Sygate is good. as a firewall.
Avast is good as an antivirus
Spybot and Adaware are good as general antispyware

Generally speaking you're set ... any more paranoia would involve regedit, MMC, etc
 
depends on your opinion, i have:
Norton Systemworks 2005
Norton Personal Firewall 2005
Ad-Aware, Spysweeper, Spy-Bot, Microsoft Anti-Spyware

Norton internet security is good for interenet protection, dont think there is much that will help you get rid of blue screen errors.
 
I would add Spyware Blaster to your mix; it will:
# Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
# Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
# Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer

Good program!
 
If you're on WinXP, make sure you get Service Pack 2 installed - its pop-up blocking in IE is not half bad, and using the Windows Firewall combined with anything mentioned above should do the trick.
