Reformatting an External

Right click on my computer and pick manage. From there expand the storage tree and click on disk management. You should see all drives attached to the computer, formatted or not. Find your external and right click on it. Pick delete partition if it's available. You'll have to recreate the partition before you can format it, but you can do that by right clicking on it again and picking partition.

I deleted the previous partition on the drive in order to reformat it was you said, but the external drive is no longer on the list. I have ejected the drive and put it back in, but nothing happened. All in ll, you have big help the time Cromwell.

If you are only looking at the top list, you need to look in the lower right pane. You may need to scroll down to see the drive. Since you are getting the option to eject it, it will be in that list somewhere.
