Reformatting HDD

So I bought this computer 2nd hand, and since Windwos updates with no hassles I assume it's a legit version of Windows, but I never got any Windows CD or anything of that sort.

So my question is, can I easily format my master HHD? Do I need any CD's or anything of that nature?

Bear in mind I've never formatted the main drive before, so for all my dumb ass knows I might not even need the CD or any serial numbers.

Cheers.

When you say your master drive, do you mean another drive, or the one in the system you just got? If it's the "new" system, you can format by booting to the windows disk and format though there. If you have another say older primary disk and you want to use it as a secondary disk, you can format it though My Computer/Explorer just as you would any other disk
