reformatting my PC! pls help

Hi guys, in the midst of doin my first reformat as my pc is buggered. I know that when i am reformattin i need to enter a disk but is the disk always a floppy or can i be cd??? most guides ive been reading say floppy. so jus wanna make sure. thanks (sorry bout the noobness of this question)

If anyone has any great guides i would be very greatful. many thanks

what OS are you installing? with xp, the cd's are bootable, im not sure which other ones are though

what OS are you running? if you have any of the windows disk pop that in. restart the computer, set your cdrom drive to be the first boot device, then it should boot using the windows cd and follow the directions and your set.

get hard disk formated into NTFS system file, it is better then FAT32

i believe that all win install cd's have been bootable since win98. at least win98se. . .

heh, at least with Fat32, u can write to it with linux

but prefer NTFS5 for 2k and xp
