Reg Clean Pro

Has anyone had experience of RegClean Pro? I get a scripting error when opening it and despite contacting support they cannot fix it, It still works when I accept the error. I also lose the programme altogether when I run my ant virus. They wanted me to reset IE
but I lost all of my settings so I did a restore.
They seem to have several names ie. Reg Clean Pro, System Tweaks, Cleverbridge, The Phone Support pvt, ltd.. For this reason I was not willing for them to look into my PC at their request.

Reg clean pro is malware, get rid of it. Don't use any registry cleaning tools to be on the safe side.

I use it because it finds and fixes faults in the registry, or am I being naïve. P paid for Reg Clean P, what should I use? I previously used PC tools

You are being very naive. It's malware and you need to get rid of it using AdwCleaner, Junkware Removal Tool and Malwarebytes.

It typically gets installed with other crap and/or as a drive-by download. Not a good program at all.

You don't need to use a registry cleaner at all and the fact that you paid for this is shocking and also a potential security threat to your bank account!

It's not technically malware. You just don't need to use it. It's one of those marketed programs that claim to fix things when in fact they won't make any difference in the performance of your computer. You can uninstall it from Programs & Features.

Your post made it seem way more severe than it really is.

I had to remove it from a friend's machine. I'm pretty sure you couldn't remove it completely from Programs & Features and it is constantly pops up and alerts you to all of the 'problems' it's found and won't 'remove' them unless you pay.

It honestly acts a bit like a rogue AV. Only way I could remove it was using AdwCleaner and the like.

And it could be a threat to his bank account. Giving money to a non-reputable firm who make software that does nothing (or is 'too good to be true')? Sound fishy?

It is malware and it needs to be removed. Adwcleaner will remove it. It is usually installed along with all those programs saying they will speed up your pc... which they don't.

Thanks all, I did a deep scan and it seems to be gone. Is it not good to have all the crap removed with a reg Cleaner?

Really there is no need to run a registry cleaner. The only time it could be used is when you are having software installation issues.

Well it comes in handy for wanting to keep the inards of your pc clean and tidy .. no ? I use mine maybe every 6 months just to clear up loose file extensions / paths that i have deleted programs , files , photos etc too that may have been left behind..

Cleaning the registry doesn't provide any noticeable system performance increase. I use Ccleaner but only the cleaner part of it, not the registry part. Why take a chance on screwing up the registry and possibly have to a fresh install of windows cause things won't work properly?

Why do you really care? You don't notice this, and if you are OCD about removing all traces of software do you also remove every file that programs install elsewhere as dependencies?

I completely agree with you guyz, RegClean pro is malware...everytime i notice its attemp to install with other software i stop it....i use CCleaner as well....but my BFF get another program to clean his computer and he is very happy with it....i think it is called sweeptools pc cleaner or something similar...If you want I can ask him for the exact name...
