RegCure for windows updates?

I just updated my comp and I got a RegCure program now sitting on my desktop. Is this legit or did I get a virus that was activated by a windows update? I read some stuff and there is a lot of things saying it is a powerful registry edit tool/cleaner, and a lot of stuff saying it downloads viruses onto your comp. Anyone know for sure what it is?

While it is a liget program RegCure is nothing but trouble in my opinion. The problem with "powerful registry cleaners" is that they remove lots of things from the registry that are supposed to be there and in general do more harm then good. Both Ccleaner and Glary Utilities both have good registry cleaners that won't over do it. RegCure likely came bundled with some other program you installed. Free programs tend to slip in all kinds of junk if your not careful.

Agreed! Dump it

RegCure will not come from a Windows Update.

Don't know what to tell you then. I am very good at knowing what is put on my computer. And I haven't installed anything from the internet or otherwise in about 2 months. The last case being a Banjour program that came with Quicktime without my knowing. I found out as I do thorough checks after any install.
