Hmm, this seems quite odd. Are there any device conflicts in device manager or anything?Encore4More said:no it cant' be that (it is a 6600GT)
see we are trying to play Battle For Middle Earth 2 like we did before his computer went to emachines to get some fixing, when it got back it froze up on some DirectX tests
and it seemds DirectX needs to be reinstalled...
Try opening dxdiag (Start>Run>DxDiag I'm sure you know), and see what it reports. Also try running some of the tests included in Dxdiag.Encore4More said:he can't, it is a family PC...
or else that would have been my immediate reaction
we did, and he passed, but the games still crash, and CS says he needs directX 9 or higher (which we have)SC7 said:Try opening dxdiag (Start>Run>DxDiag I'm sure you know), and see what it reports. Also try running some of the tests included in Dxdiag.
Don't you get it. It's never Microsoft's fault. It's always your hardware.sup2jzgte said:I'm having the exact same issue on my cheap ass Compaq, I'm not sure if it my card or not seeing as it is the thing that came with comupter, but I'm trying to play N64 Emulator and it wont let me. I ran all checks and everything is enabled and working all tests passed, but I still cant play it. I emailed Microsoft support about it and they were terrible. They told me that from what they can see I may have an issue with my motherboard, but that sounds like crap to me. So I have no clue what the deal is, but I highly doubt it is the motherboard. The updates I installed didnt work either. So I'm highly interested in this as well
