HI ALL.

I have windows XP os. I had lots of viruses on my PC and still have. I decided that I would install Windows XP Pro over my windows XP Home. But instead it just installed aside the Windows Home as a seperate os. I wanted to compltly wipe my system and start over. Ive formatted and all that nothing has worked. But I have a C drive and also a D drive with around 150GB on each. Well I deleted the D drive and also formated it... I cant even see the D drive now and again Is reinstalled freshly aparantly.. but it hasnt all the old files are there and I cant formatt the C drive as it wont allow me too - this is really anooying and should be a simple task!

Any advice on how I get my D drive back -!!?
Any advice how to wipe BOTH drives and just simply install the XP Pro on freshly no other files...

Thanks you...

Restart your pc and go into BIOS. Find boot from disk then save changes! then insert the pro cd and boot it formating the c drive in a ntfs file system! try it it worked with me but i did loose my backups cos well i left them in the c drive!

ok m8 ,.. ive already tried formatting and all that it wont work but on another forum they replied this....

So you want to wipe all informaion ok we can do that

Darik's Boot and Nuke
http://dban.sourceforge.net/

Either use a the (Floppy version.) or (CDR/CDRW version.)

I dont have a floppy but I wonder if you could take me through the steps.. I have a CD drive.

right i can do this!
Ok turn on your system and access your bios and find an option that says boot from cd turn this on . save your settings then exit. then just after the 1st bios screen there will be an option "press any key to boot from cd" do this! then follow the instructions until you get to the partitions screen. Press enter on the C:/ and go to "format using NTFS" this should format it!
