reinstalling windows 8 without disc.

Remove everything and reinstall windows is an option I have with this new computer.
However I read around on the Microsoft website that I may need the disc or a flash drive to recover some files during the reinstall process.

I can create this I believe into my external HD? But how?

Side Note:
This was a open box computer from Best Buy with nothing but the laptop and charger. There is no windows product key on the bottom, so I used a program called (key finder) recommended by Microsoft to recover your key code. Which I now have.

Thought I would follow the instructions from here

But I get this Error:

What is the make and model of your laptop? Usually your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer for recovery cd's.

I would just contact Dell. I did that a long time ago with a HP computer and they charged $10 for the disc. Sure it has gone up but shouldn't be too much.

oh yeah and btw, if ur pc is a enterprise (OEM) windows, then that way wouldn't work because that installer is used to install the non oem windows. to check, you click start>search>"system". then it will say if it is enterprise, or pro.

Just do the built in recovery on the laptop. Don't bother with a disc or anything like that. You can access those options by clicking the Settings gear on the charms (located on the right side of the screen if you mouse over). Don't remember where the specific setting is located.
