reinstalling windows xp mce problem

I reinstalled windows and at the end a blue screen came up with white writing and then the computer quickly shut down before I could read it. Anyways, now when I try to restart my computer it gets to the windows loading screen and then quickly the same blue screen comes up again and the computer quickly shuts down. Also, I just noticed that there is a good size scratch on the outer edge of the windows disk. What should I do?? Thanks.

the problem is not from the cd. because if it was it couldnt be installed and computer couldnt copy the files and windows should ask you to insert the Windows Xp CD.or an error like this"windows can not find the *.* , cancel button, retry, "

any ideas then, i have tried to install it 2 times now and still does the same thing, and the second time when it was installing it said something like: file cannot be copied or something like that when it got about 52% complete. I clicked retry and it read the file the second time but at like 96% complete a blue screen came up with white writing and said: session3_initialization_failed.
