I have Win XP Pro 32 bit with cd key etc

I want to take a copy of WIN XP Pro 64 bit and install it over if possible.

I didn't think this was possible, then I found this long thing about how to do it with Vista. Do you think the same process would work for XP? Here is the link

And yes I am only doing this so I can see all the ram I installed because.. I paid for it and I want it :) lol

Don't run XP 64-bit. It sucks. The driver support is horrible and it crashes a lot. You're better off upgrading to 64-bit Vista or 7.

Have you ever run Windows XP Professional x64? In the early days, it did suck for drivers. But not now that everyone is supporting the 64 bit software for the hardware now. It is a stable OS. It is more stable than Vista can ever be. There is software that Vista can not run where xp x64 will run. You just can't run 16 bit software anymore on any x64 bit platform. If you do run it, do your homework on it
Windows XP x64 is my Main OS, till it craps out in 2014. I have no problems with it. And if this person has a copy of it already, it doesn't matter now does it. Grant it, if he wants to upgrade to a x64 OS, "DO NOT" get Vista in anyway possible. Go and get the Windows 7 x64, Premium or Professional if you want to play games in the xp mode, or the Ultimate for heavy networking. I will probably buy 7 this winter if my funds will allow me to. 7 is a great OS, 7 is what Vista should have been. I was one of the Beta testers for Windows 7 x64 Professional on my system.
And for the person that asked the question, it is best to do a clean install and if you have the key code for the xp x64. Because the 32 bit key will not work. And also, the xp x64 is probably a System's build software, it will be mated with your machine. But I never had problems in the past when I changed out parts since it was never made in a retail version.
