Reinstalling XP

if i reinstall XP,will all my stuff be still saved,im not reformatting, but alot of stuff is in my documents and i just want to make sure it doesnt delete the my documents then rewrites it.

If you do a 'repair' of XP then I believe your documents are safe. Re-installing XP over a previous installation you will lose everything though. If I were you, save a hard copy of your files on a cd first. Also, wy are you reinstalling? If your having issues a system restore may be the better alternative.

Backup your documents to another partition, independent hard drive, external hard drive, USB flash drive, or CD/DVD. :D

my pcs running like crap..i geuss il have to get some DVDs and save everything, its a big hassle but just incase.
if i install windows on one partition would i be able to transfer the files from the old XP,then delete it later?

Transfer your files into a seperate partition and reinstall Windows on the C: partition. Do you have another partition besides Windows on your hard drive?

i think i can make one or there is one i remember when i installed xp on here the second time(current one) i saw another petition.is there any easy way to check if i have one?

Start>Right click my computer>manage> Storage> Disk Management (local)

This will tell you all about any storage media installed including CD/DVD drives. It will also show the partition break down for any drives that may be partitioned.

You can also manually find it in c:\windows\system32\Diskmgmt

Lol, dust will not make stuff slower (unless overheating)... RAM upgrade will help alot :)

To install u will be formatting only the first partition(mostly C:. drive). So tthe fiels in the others partition remains safe. nothing to worry.
