reloading xp

hey guys can someone tell me if its possible to reload xp without losing all your files and folders, or does it automatically format the disk

Yes you can, and its called doing a repair install. Just follow the prompts. Just don't press R at the first prompt cause you will then enter the recovery console which you don't want. Once it finds an existing windows installation, then press R to repair. However, there is always a chance something will go wrong, its always best to back up important files.
