remote access question

is there any way to remotely turn on my computer via on the internet using remote access software like teamviewer?
i know a bit about wake on lan and im sure i can figure it out but has anyone done this before and knows a good way of doing it?
i just dont want to end up investigating an option on the internet and getting nowhere

You need to make sure your motherboard supports it.

Here's a good resource. Most newer motherboards have it, so you should be good to go.

it wake on lan. wol in the bios.

if you want to do it remotely just set up wol as you would normally then forward the wol ports on your router to the pc you want to wake.
