So I ditched the idea of setting up logontomypc.com here at work, but I liked when I tried it at home a lot! The downside is that the aforementioned company is expensive ($19.99 for one pc and $29.99 for 2). So does anyone know of a free program that will do the same thing? Thanks in advance!
 
there is logmein.com which I believe is still free and it is encrypted. Be careful that a lot of free VNC software sends/receives data in plain text. They do that so you will upgrade to the pay for version that offers encryption. If you are on a windows box you can download a program called putty.exe (google it) and it will allow windows clients to create ssh connections. Once you create a ssh connection you can then use your free non encrypted remote desktop client through your ssh tunnel. I would check out the forums over at www.dd-wrt.com some of those guys are really good at doing such things over a network.
