Im trying to set up a remote connection from an XP computer to my Vista Home Premium machine.
I have Port Forwarding set up in my Linksys router to use application RDP, port 3389 to 3389 Protocol is TCP. I have it set up to forward to my desktop which I have a static IP set up on(192.168.1.100). And I have it enabled.
On the Vista computer I have it set to Allow Remote Assistant connections and have the exception in the Windows Firewall to allow Remote Assistance.
When I get on the XP computer to try and connect I type in my Public IP(96.x.x.x) where it says computer. Then enter my username and password of the Vista machine.
When it comes back and tells me it did not work is says something along the lines of this: It just says computer may not have RDC may not be enabled on that compuer or to busy at this time. When I test it I get on a wireless network in my apartment, so Im not going from my network.
What am I missing?
