Remote Printing

Hi,

We run a company and have a small office in Southampton (I have VERY little computer knowledge). We're going to be out of the country for family reasons for about 7 months but will be running the company from overseas. Our key issue is that we need move the office printer/scanner/fax to my parents house as they will be dong general admin for us but it still needs to remain on the office network as i'll need to remotely print. Where I say network, we have 2 computers and the printer currently, theres no actual server.

Any ideas as to how I could do this?

Well, the easiest way would be to use a remote desktop program to connect to the computer that is directly connected to the printer and print you things that way.... a more complicated but cooler way of going about it would be to create a virtual private network over the internet using a program like hamachi. It more or less allows you to connect to computers via the internet as if you were all connected on a local network. Unfortunately, my usefulness when it comes to configuring that program is very limited as i have minimal experience with it. It is a free program though... As for remote desktop you could use logmein.com, it's very user friendly and easy to setup. There is a free version but if you're willing to pay a small monthly fee you can get access to more features such as file transfer and such. Hopefully that helps.
