remove all files from a certain software

a while ago, i installed topaz vivacity (plug-in for photoshop), used it for only a small time, then uninstalled it. i installed it a couple months later (now), but it says my trial has ended. after i uninstall again, i can't find any traces in the registry or on disk of the program, yet if i install, it says trial ended. i used 2 junk file removers, 3 registry scanners, and manually searching places like the registry (ie. curr user>software, local_machine>software) and folders (ie. app data, prog files). does anybody know where these traces of the program might be so i can use the trial month that i didn't even get?

Or, is there any way i can use the installer exe to find exactly where each and every file is installed?

For any download you try those are time stamped and are useless automatically after the trial period is over. Installers and Windows alike create installation log and folders under your user name in the DocumentsandSettings folder in XP and now users folder in Vista as well as in the Program Files directory or seen on C. A fresh download of a newer release would be the thing needed there to try the program out.

A fresh download didn't do the trick. I'll check that folder

edit: Yeah I forgot to say, I'm using xp. I didn't find an installation log in any of those folders. I found the Topaz registry keys when they were installed, but the whole key is removed with topaz when the uninstaller is run. There's no program files folder of it either. Anything else I can try?

The thing now is to simply wait for the next release of the shareware. The present download is somehow recognising the previous installation there. As I mentioned before Windows as well as any program installed creates installation logs being read by the second download's installer.

Those are often hard to find and remove. One thought would be using CCleaner to clean up all of the temp install folders created and then see if it will then go on. http://www.ccleaner.com/

Your last option would be far removed if you are determined just to see a shareware and not full retail version go on with a total deletion of the current copy of XP installed. On a fresh install you would be using a totally new registry along with new Windows, docs+settings, and Program Files directories.

ccleaner doesn't work, i've had it for a while.

i used the registry to find the folder in the appdata folder but it's totally gone when i uninstall. i'm outta ideas besides a format

I ran into this when trying out Setpoint by Easydesksoftware where the repeat download was time stamped to expire at a certain date. While you could still download that release after the data had passed the same expired message would be seen. The next release would then go right on and work with the new expiration date.

Before jumping at a wipe of the current installation and no plans to buy the full version the idea would be to see when the next time stamped shareware release was available. Even after running it for a month you would still be facing the same thing all over again.
