Hey all,

Ive decided to remove Vista from my computer and wait out until Sp1...So i just formatted the partion with Vista on,However the Bootloader is still asking me which Os i want to use....Xp or Vista,Well obviusly Vista wont boot anymore as its gone.

How can i remove the Os select screen and just boot into Xp as normal?
Heres a screenshot....what do i have to remove from this Boot.ini line?:

;
;Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
;Warning: Use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
;
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT

While in Windows, do msconfig and under boot.ini tab there should be something what says Check boot options or Check valid path or something similar. That should tell you if you have unvalid path there and then remove it.

hi,

thanks for replying,I done what you said but it says all Boot.ini lines for Microsoft operating systems are ok:cool:

Dunno why as Vista doesnt boot anymore....i formatted it.

I need to know what line to remove....any help appreciated ;)

Well here's mine and it dosn't have Vista:

Code:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

And it looks pretty much the same except for the HDD location. Is that your entire boot.ini file?

EDIT: Ahh I found something for you. :D http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74987
