i've successfully setup outlook express for so many years I can't remember but for reasons I just can't imagine I can no longer send mail from OE. It receives fine but just will not send. Whenever I "click on" an iten in internet explorer it automatically directs the mail to outlook express where it just sits, immobile, unable to send. I can send successfully from other email systems like yahoo etc. I decided that since O E was of no use to me I would delete it, yeah, sure. it just won't delete. two questions, first is there any way to direct internet mail to another mail system? second has anyone ever successfully deleted outlook express?

You can't uninstall OE, but you can try the steps here to make Yahoo the default email app. According to a few sites, you have to install Yahoo Messenger in order to gain yahoo mail in the programs list. There may be another method.

Follow the steps below and see if you already have Yahoo Mail in your programs list.
# Select Tools | Internet Options... from the menu in Internet Explorer.
# Go to the Programs tab.
# Make sure Yahoo! Mail is selected under E-mail.
# Click OK.

Most likely your outgoing server requires authentication and you don't have it checked in your options.
