If you are unable to change these options in the program itself, you can usually find these settings in the registry:
** Be very careful and know what you are deleting before you delete it. If there is any doubt, export the registry key before you delete! **
1)
Start ->
Run
2) Type
regedit and press
ENTER
3) You'll be looking under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT...
3a) If the command are looking for appears when you right-click a
folder you'll want to look under the
Folder and
Directory subkeys.
3b) If it appears on a
Drive look under the
Drive subkey.
3c) If it appears on certain file types, look for that file type (ie:
.exe files would be
exefile;
.rar files would be
rarfile
It may appear on multiple different types of files, and you'll have to hunt down each one.
For all of these you're interested in the
shell subkey, and under that look at what commands are there and look for the one you are trying to remove. When you find it, just delete the subkey.
For an example, lets say we want to remove the Open command when we right-click on a folder. We would go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell and I would delete the entire
Open subkey. Because it is a folder, I would also check in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell in case it is there also (but it is not).
And to delete the open command on .exe files (
DON'T DO THIS) look in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell where you will find the
open subkey
If you can't find the right subkeys in these locations, you can also look in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/shellex/ContextMenuHandlers
Again, be careful and export the key if you are in doubt.
NOTE: I think I remember MagicISO being a pain in the butt to find and get rid of, but I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I've been on Windows
PS - I hope all this makes sense.
