Removed Modem and PC takes ages to start up!

Hi,

I recently removed the modeom from the back of my computer because it was no longer needed and I needed the slots... and ever since it's been taken out my computer takes at least 3 times as long as it did before to start up, what do you think I can do to solve this problem?
Thanks.

I'm betting that Windows is searching for a device that's no longer physically there. Make sure the modem has been deleted in Device Manager.

Related to OvenMaster's post, did you uninstall the modem before you removed it? In Windows, you generally can't remove a piece of internal hardware without uninstalling it from the operating system first...
